UP CLOSE WITH SPIDERS – PHOTO GALLERY
This picture was taken in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, in the mid-1990s. The spider is possibly an immature
male of an Argiope species. I have seen tiny spiders like this one on several
occasions. The central part of the web that’s thicker and more clearly visible (the stabilimentum)
is roughly the size of my thumbnail.
