This picture was taken on Pantai Hill, Kuala Lumpur, in the mid-1980s. The combined action
of rain and the struggles of the insect prey (possibly a grasshopper) had destroyed
the spiders web save for some strands of silk. This Argiope species also builds
its web quite close to the ground in belukar (overgrown patches) and low vegetation.
