A nymph almost ready to change...
This dragonfly nymph appears to be fully developed. Its wing buds can be
seen clearly. Dragonfly nymphs are also called naiads, and so are the young of other insects that
develop in water. In Greek mythology, a naiad is a nymph who inhabits springs, fountains,
rivers and lakes.
